• Jan Paweł II square

    Near the place where Marynarki Polskiej street connects with harbour there is a square. Formerly there stood a church here, dedicated to the St. Nicolaus, a patron of sailors and merchants.
    The light of the torches placed at the top of the church was the first thing that guided ships to the port in the history of Ustka. Around the square you can see some of the preserved houses belonging to the ship captains who lived in Ustka, hence the other name of the park- Captains’ Alley. Thanks to the model constructed here you can see how this place looked in the past.

  • Murals in Ustka

    Ustka is home to three marine-themed murals created according to woodcuts by Japanese artist Hokusai. Their unveiling took place in 2017.

    The "Radość" sanatorium in Ustka is decorated with a mosaic designed by Irena Zahorska in the late 1970s. This expressive composition, full of sea creatures, was made of ceramic elements (including porcelain fragments such as mugs, plates, jugs and lids).

    Meanwhile, on Słowiańska Street, we can see a mural placed on the wall of the building adjacent to the city hall. It was created on the initiative of the civic budget in 2017, and depicts the sea with Czeslaw Milosz's poem "Dar” (“The Gift”) inscribed on it. The project, whose author is an artist from Słupsk, Piotr Igor Salata, was made by the Indygo Foundation.

    In addition, three more murals are located on Marynarki Polskiej Street. Two of them were made by the Museum of Pomeranian Folk Culture in Swołowo. The third is a mural located on the cafe "Mistral- tu i teraz", it was designed by well-known artist Jacek Frąckiewicz.

  • The wraith pond

    Formerly avoided by the citizens, nowadays the pond is an ideal destination for treks or short bicycle trips.
    According to the legends, the pond was haunted by ghosts and wraiths, which lured the unsuspecting passers-by into the depths with mysterious lights. A grim tale tells of the sunken coach in which the noble inheritor died with his whole family. The area was recently renovated with benches and wooden jetties installed around the pond. It is a perfect place for relaxation among the trees and steep hills. In case of rainy weather there is also a gazebo there.

  • Fish market

    In the western part of the harbor there is a fish market where the local fishermen offer the fresh spoils of their work.
    Thanks to the recently developed mobile app Fishmarket, the information regarding the fish availability, prices and sale dates are constantly updated. There is a lot of potential buyers, so to ensure that you will be able to purchase the fish you want it is best to order it through the forementioned app. The app also offers information about which restaurants are supplied by the market with fresh fish.

  • “Delfin” cinema

    The “Delfin” cinema in Ustka is one of the oldest cinemas in Poland, still hosting the latest shows. During the PRL times (People’s Republic of Poland) it was a place of many shows, including concerts and plays.
    The cinema was extremely popular back then, easily recognised by the long queues forming before the ticket box. After the recent renovation, the cinema regained a part of its former splendour. Before the show it is recommended to go on a short tour through the building, on which there is a unique chance to see the old, vintage projectors. There is also a music pub and a guesthouse in the building.

  • Promenade

    Undoubtedly one of the best places for a walk in Ustka. Existing from 1875, this over 2 kilometres long walkway has recently been renovated and is packed to the brim with various attractions, especially during summer season.
    The promenade has been equipped with a new surface, lighting, bicycle racks and benches, on one of which sits Irena Kwiatkowska (a sculpture of the famous actress). Most events take place on or near the promenade, and there are also many food stands, restaurants and cultural facilities to be found along the promenade.

  • Old fishing village

    The old fishing village is located between Czerwonych Kosynierów and Marynarki Polskiej streets. Historically it was placed at the very coast, but in 11th century first houses began to appear in this place.
    The village was mostly composed of half-timbered houses, very popular in the region. Nowadays, the remains of the village were renovated to bring back its former looks and atmosphere. Only a few of the houses survived to our times, sadly, and those that did belonged to the most important people in the village- the ship captains.

  • The lighthouse

    There are seventeen lighthouses along the Polish Baltic coast. The one in Ustka is also one of the most interesting of them, due to its unique architecture.
    Built in the form of an octagonal tower, its walls are decorated with numerous cornices. Its light has been guiding ships into the port for more than a century. We strongly recommend seeing the lighthouse from both the inside and outside. It only takes 68 steps to reach the top of the tower and admire the sea and the city skyline.

  • The harbour

    The harbour is the popular place for a walk for both tourists and local residents.
    During a walk alongside the harbour you can see many ships moored, both fishing boats and tourist ships. The latter ones offer a short cruise at the sea. For those who prefer to stay ashore, there are plenty taverns and restaurants near the harbour where one can taste various kinds of fish like cod, herring and even shark.

  • The gangway

    Open from 2013, the gangway connecting two banks of Słupia river is one of its kind in Europe.
    It enables a quick and convenient passage from one side of the port to the other. It is interchangeably opened and closed, enabling both the pedestrians to cross and ships to leave or enter the harbour. Apart from its vital role in infrastructure, it is also a touristic attraction, especially at night when illuminated with colourful lights,

  • Villas district

    Walking down Żeromskiego Street towards the promenade, one can spot a true architectural gem - the Red Villa.
    The building was probably constructed in 1886 of red brick in the Wilhelminian (neo-Baroque) style and was probably built for Otto von Bismarck. Along this route there are also other interesting buildings, including villas built in the early 20th century. They are distinguished by their characteristic towers and overhanging verandas, as well as decorated doors, arched windows and wrought-iron balustrades on the balconies.
